那些翻译起来分分钟让人蓝瘦香菇的英语单词！
不论你词汇量多么庞大，总有这么一些英文单词，当它们要被翻译成汉语时，分分钟能让人精分！也许是你自己不知道有对应的一个中文词或短语可以简洁表达；或者，我大中华里压根就没有表达这单词意思的词或短语；又或者，是一词多义的辨别让我们蓝瘦香菇。。。我为什么要说这种话？在这里，举我爱的栗子讲给你们听。（来啊，互相伤害啊！）
第一种情况，殊不知，更多时候是因为我们脑袋里的中文词汇量不够海量，而不是说translation gap 太多，其实是可以用中文简洁又准确来表达的，只是我们不知道这个词或短语，毕竟我大中华汉字博大精深呀（敲黑板！）。
举些栗子，Purlicue 大拇指和食指间的空隙，不就是虎口么？Lunule 指甲上白色的小太阳，不就是半月痕么？halfpace 指楼梯每层之间的平台，楼梯在这个平台翻转方向，不就是叫缓步台么？Colunmella nasi，两个鼻孔之间的空间，不就是鼻小柱么？Phloembundles 拔香蕉皮的时候拉出来的丝儿，不就是蕉丝么？Griffonage看不懂的潦草笔记，比如医生开的处方，不就是鬼画符么？（好气哦！欺负我中文英文都不好嘛！）
第二种情况，真遇到translation gap时，其实许多舶来词都直接音译的，参考simmons席梦思，humor幽默，logic逻辑，hysteria歇斯底里，litost 力脱思特（是指突然发现我们自身的可悲境况后产生的自我折磨的状态）等等。
但在遇到这些gap，不能用中文短语简介准确表达的，也不适合简单粗暴音译的时候，就要视情况而定了。还是举栗子吧！我是想到什么就扯什么，有错误，还请各位知友纠错补充～

petrichor，形容雨后泥土散发的气息
ambidextrous 形容一个人左手右手都灵活熟练
vicarious，间接式体验，代入式体验？
topping 糕点上的装饰配料，坚果啊糖霜啊，
presentation 展示？陈述？演讲？
counterpart，竞品？副本？配对物？相对物？这个相当依赖语境。
pitch，类似proposal？elevator pitch 电梯推销？电梯安利？电梯里给人“种草”？
Eudemonia，因理性而积极生活所带来的幸福，希腊借来词
limbo：a speculative idea about the afterlife condition of those who die in original sin without being assigned to the Hell of the Damned. 潜意识的边缘？迷离之际？
Mamihlapinatapai，纪录片《浮生一日》也解释过，我又查了下定义：
1.a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other will offer something that they both desire but are unwilling to suggest or offer themselves.
2.It is that look across the table when two people are sharing an unspoken but private moment. When each knows the other understands and is in agreement with what is being expressed. An expressive and meaningful silence.
心有灵犀？心照不宣？默契？一种很微妙的状态,或是一小段时间, 当事的双方有了共同的愿望,但是谁都没开口把窗户纸捅破的那个时间段。
sapiosexuality 因为智商高而产生的对异性的吸引力，smart is the new sexy？科科～
judge，评头论足？指手画脚？批判？审视？《论语》中倒有说到：子贡方人，子曰：赐也贤乎哉？夫我则不睱。这个“方”正好契合的样子，不是现在我们说的“我好方”噢。
articulate 清楚地表达？有力地阐述？
alternative 备选的？两者择一的？
patronize，说烂的一句dont patronize me！别做出一副屈尊俯就的样子？把我当hello kitty保护我？艾薇儿有首同名歌。
serendipity，意外发现珍奇事物的才能; 意外新发现
niche,最合适的位置？天下之大，自有留爷处。。。
ethereal：extremly delicate and light，seeming to belong to another more spiritual word.太空般轻缥的？
steatopygia：the state of having substantial levels of tissue on the buttocks and thighs. 臀部堆积了大块肥肉的样子，尤指妇女。
package 一揽子项目or计划？
Limerence：The state of being infatuated or obsessed with another person, typically experienced involuntarily and characterized by a strong desire for reciprocation of ones feelings but not primarily for a sexual relationship. 指“已经交往一段时间却已失去相互情绪上的牵挂和肉体上的吸引”，纯爱？柏拉图精神恋爱？
列举几只丧心病狂的拼接词 ( _ ) 。。。
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
super- "above", cali- "beauty", fragilistic- "delicate", expiali- "to atone", and -docious "educable", with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educability through delicate beauty."
“太牛x了我都不知道该说什么了，但我为了让你知道我已经了解了牛逼之处，我必须要说点什么”简言之，当你没话说的时候说的话。
Floccinaucinihilipilification，action or habit of estimating as worthless, 1741, a combination of four Latin words (flocci, nauci, nihili, pilifi) all signifying at a small price or for nothing, flocci 对应 flock毛，绒毛；nauci 可以联系（联想）nut, nucleus 胡桃壳，坚果; ni-=ne-不，hil=fil毛，对应file，pili毛，对应 pile, 大概就是对荣华富贵的轻蔑的意思，神马都是浮云～
Pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism是个医学词，不懂，看wiki词典解释如下：
used to describe a condition where the individual has the phenotypic appearance of pseudohypoparathyroidism type 1a, but is biochemically normal.

第三种情况，一词多义，这个就看语境以及搭配来翻译了，有些自相矛盾的词分分钟想让人狗带（你若是老司机，就一笑而过吧）。继续举栗子呀！这一块要细说的话，至少得唠嗑上几天几夜。。。
sanction
制裁，处罚 vs 支持，批准
In 1935 the League of Nations imposed sanctions against Italy following its invasion of Ethiopia.
1935 年国际联盟在意大利入侵埃塞俄比亚之后对其实施了制裁。
The king could not enact laws without the sanction of Parliament. 未经议会批准，国王不能制定法律。
compromise
妥协让步 vs 使（自己）声誉受损;违背(信念)
The government has compromised with its critics over monetary policies... 政府已经就货币政策向批评人士作出让步
...members of the government who have compromised themselves by co-operating with the emergency committee...
因与紧急委员会合作而使自己名誉受损的政府成员
presently
现在 vs 不久之后
She is presently developing a number of projects...
她现在正着手开发多个项目。
-Who is Agnes？-Youll be meeting her presently.
“谁是阿格尼丝？”——“你很快就会见到她。”
shanghai
上海 vs 欺诈拐骗
They got shanghaied after being drugged in Shanghai.
充充电：shanghai一词源于汉语地名“上海”，因为在十九世纪落后的中国有大量的华工被骗到国外从事繁重的体力劳动，并且不会受到良好的待遇。而他们出发的地方就是上海，因此，shanghai一词在英语中也就有了“拐骗，欺诈”的意思。再来看看马男里的栗子呀！厉害了我的哥！
cleave
劈开;砍开 vs 粘住，紧贴
They just cleave the stone along the cracks. 他们就是顺着裂缝把石头劈开。
The ancient ivy cleaved to the ruined castle walls.古老的常春藤紧紧攀附在破败的城堡墙上。
humour
幽默 vs 迁就
His delightful sense of humour won him a legion of friends. 他的幽默风趣为他赢得了众多的朋友
She disliked Dido but was prepared to tolerate her for a weekend in order to humour her husband.她不喜欢迪多，但准备暂时忍受她一个周末。
